Trump Backs Jordan for Speaker in Bold GOP Power Move!

Donald Trump, who used to be president, may be looking for a new job in politics. Since Kevin McCarthy was fired as Speaker of the House, there has been talk that Trump might take over the job. Earlier this week, Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) said he supported Trump's nomination, but he has since changed his mind. Nehls just got off the phone with Trump and told everyone that Trump supports Jim Jordan (R-OH), who is Chairman of the Judiciary.

Nehls is now saying that he backs Jordan and that Congress should pay attention to the party head. He has also been telling reporters that he supports them. Trump and Jordan are very close. In fact, Jordan backed Trump for president in 2024. Many Republicans, including Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), are in favor of Jordan's run for speaker. But Massie has made it clear that he won't back Trump for speaker.

It's interesting that Jordan first said he wanted to stay as head of the House Judiciary Committee. But he has now publicly said that he wants to be speaker. CNN's Chad Pergram says that Jordan thinks he can bring Republicans together and stop a messy selection process like the one that led to McCarthy becoming speaker.

It looks like Trump's possible run for speaker has gotten the Republican Party excited, and Jordan's announcement has only made the rumors stronger. All eyes will be on the race for speaker and how it might affect the future of the GOP as the political scene continues to change.
