The idea that a sitting president would use an autopen to sign off on something as serious as pardons for his own family is a gross miscarriage of presidential responsibility. This is not some casual correspondence or routine paperwork we’re talking about. These are major legal interventions with life-altering consequences for real people.
Biden’s explanation for why he used an autopen—a device that robotically replicates his signature—hinges on the idea of being overwhelmed by the sheer volume of pardons on his desk. If the job of being president is too big and the paperwork is too much, maybe it’s time to start looking for new help behind the Resolute Desk. Americans didn’t elect a machine to do the job; they elected a leader to take the reins and make these grave decisions with the diligence they deserve.
How are we supposed to trust a president whose process for pardoning individuals is so lackadaisical? If he can’t find the time to personally review and sign documents of such magnitude, what other responsibilities is he shirking in favor of snapping a rubber stamp?
Once again, Trump lays bare the hypocrisy and incompetence of a liberal establishment that wants to poke their noses in everybody’s business but won’t even handle their own properly. Joe Biden, with his globalist cronies and handlers, seems more interested in appeasing foreign interests than ensuring justice at home. Something as critical as pardoning should never be outsourced to a machine. It’s time for Joe to decide if he’s the president or just a figurehead sitting quietly while others pull the strings.
