Trump Crushes DeSantis in GOP Poll: The Ultimate Comeback?

A recent poll by LX News and YouGov showed that Republican voters think that former President Donald Trump is a better choice for the upcoming general elections than Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The poll was done with 1,000 U.S. citizens between May 17 and 19, and the error rate was +/- 3%. Among those who answered, 59 percent of Republicans think Trump would be the best candidate to lead the GOP in the general election, while only 27 percent chose DeSantis. The last 13 percent didn’t know.

Even though some independents showed support for Governor DeSantis, a large majority of 34 percent thought Trump was the best GOP candidate for the general election, while only 23 percent liked DeSantis and 43 percent weren’t sure. The poll also showed that 35 percent of Democrats thought DeSantis was the better choice, while only 27 percent thought Trump would be the best person to get rid of Biden. But 38 percent were still not sure.

In the end, Trump beat DeSantis again, as 39 percent of respondents thought he had the best chance of winning the general election, while only 28 percent thought the governor did, and 33 percent didn’t know. When it came to campaign issues, like foreign policy, immigration, and the economy, respondents gave Trump high marks. In fact, 34% of respondents thought that Trump had a better plan for these problems. In terms of education, 22 percent of the people polled thought Governor DeSantis had a better plan than Trump, who only got 17 percent of the vote.

Lastly, only 35% of all respondents thought that Vice President Biden was the best candidate the Democratic Party could select. The majority, 51%, thought that he was not the best candidate. Only 27% of independent voters polled thought that the current president would be the best choice in the next election, while 55% did not. 54 percent of Democrats think that President Biden is the best choice, but 29 percent think that the party should choose someone else. There is no doubt that the Democrats are in a mess and don’t believe in their own leader.
