Former President Donald Trump dominates the Missouri Republican presidential caucus, leaving Nikki Haley in the dust and cementing his path to the GOP nomination. The Associated Press wasted no time in declaring Trump the victor, further solidifying his unbeatable position within the party.
With this win, Trump kicks off what is sure to be a winning streak as he heads into the Idaho and Michigan nominating contests. The former president has already swept every state where he’s appeared on the ballot, leaving Haley trailing far behind in every match-up. Yet, the stubborn former South Carolina governor refuses to throw in the towel, in a futile attempt to offer a weak alternative to the powerhouse that is Donald Trump.
This Missouri triumph couldn’t have come at a better time for Trump, just days before Super Tuesday, when 15 states will hold their primary elections simultaneously. Trump’s delegate count already dwarfs that of Haley, and this number is only set to soar as Missouri, Idaho, and Michigan award their delegates to the unstoppable force that is Trump.
The Republican nomination seems all but assured for Trump, as he is expected to breeze past the 1,215-delegate threshold needed to secure the party’s nomination in the coming weeks. It’s clear that the GOP has spoken, and they want Trump at the helm for another term.
