President Trump made the right call this week when he ended Kamala Harris’ Secret Service protection. The former vice president had been getting special treatment thanks to a secret order Biden signed before leaving office. Trump canceled that wasteful extension effective September 1st.
Harris already got her six months of protection like every other former vice president. That protection ended back in July, but Biden quietly gave her a whole extra year for no good reason. This was nothing more than political favoritism using taxpayer money.
Former Secret Service Agent Bill Gage explained on NEWSMAX that this decision frees up valuable resources for Trump’s security team. The Secret Service is already stretched thin protecting the president and his family. Every agent assigned to Harris is one less protecting the man who actually needs it most.
Harris doesn’t deserve special treatment just because she lost the election. She’s been living safely in Los Angeles and barely shows up in public anyway. The only reason she needs protection now is for her upcoming book tour to cash in on her failed campaign.
Liberal politicians like LA Mayor Karen Bass are crying about revenge and retaliation. This isn’t revenge, it’s common sense government. Why should taxpayers pay for extra security for someone who spends her time attacking Trump’s immigration policies?
Harris has been running her mouth about Trump’s efforts to secure our border and deport criminals. She called sending the National Guard to handle illegal immigrant protests a dangerous escalation. Maybe she should worry about real dangers instead of complaining about law and order.
The Democrats always want special rules for themselves while regular Americans struggle. Harris lost fair and square and doesn’t get to keep presidential-level perks forever. She can hire private security like any other rich celebrity if she’s so worried.
Trump is putting America first by using our resources wisely. Every dollar not wasted on Harris’ protection can go toward keeping the president safe while he fixes the mess Biden left behind. That’s exactly what real leadership looks like.
