The Cleveland Guardians’ leadership shrugged off Trump’s demand with all the usual woke platitudes about “building the brand” under a bland new name. But let’s be clear: this isn’t just about “branding.” This is a shameful capitulation to cultural erasure. The Indians moniker, for over a century, was a salute to the great Native American athlete Louis Sockalexis — a pioneering figure whose legacy dared to break barriers. The so-called “Guardians” identity? A safe, empty shell designed to appease the far-left activists who want to scrub America’s proud history and replace it with diversity theater.
Meanwhile, the Washington Commanders have committed the classic establishment sin: silence. They won’t say a word, fearing retribution from Trump, who holds the power to halt their coveted stadium deals. This cowardice speaks volumes.
