In a stunning turn of events, former President Donald Trump has endorsed Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan for the esteemed position of speaker of the House. This move comes as a surprise, considering Trump had recently shared a photoshopped image depicting himself as the speaker while holding the coveted gavel. But hey, who hasn’t indulged in a little photoshop fun, right?
According to Forbes magazine, Trump shared the image on his new social media platform, Truth Social, just a couple of days ago. In the picture, Trump sports his signature Make America Great Again hat, exuding an air of confidence as he wields the speaker’s gavel. But alas, it seems Trump has had a change of heart and is ready to pass the torch to Jordan, maybe just for a “short period.” How generous of him!
The speaker’s chair has been vacant since the ousting of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who was shamefully removed from his position by a group of GOP members led by none other than Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz. McCarthy has since declared that he won’t seek reappointment as speaker, paving the way for a new leader to take charge and hopefully restore some dignity to the role.
Enter Jim Jordan, the man of the hour. Not only has Trump thrown his weight behind Jordan, but he has been joined by other prominent figures such as South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem. Governor Noem, in an interview with Newsmax host Eric Bolling, expressed her belief that Jordan has an “80% chance” of becoming the next speaker. That’s quite a vote of confidence!\

Noem emphasized the need for a strong leader who is unafraid to fight for what’s right and investigate the rampant corruption in Washington, D.C. And who better to tackle these daunting tasks than Jim Jordan? Clearly, he has left an impression on his fellow Republicans, with many members expected to rally behind him.
The race for speaker of the House is still wide open, with other Republicans like Kevin Hern and Steve Scalise vying for the position. But it seems that the momentum is swinging in Jordan’s favor, bolstered by the endorsement of Trump and the support of influential figures like Governor Noem.
