Trump Outshines DeSantis at Iowa State Fair with Epic Entourage!

Get ready for the Trump show at the Iowa State Fair! The former president is storming into town with a crew of Florida Republicans who decided to stick it to Gov. Ron DeSantis by endorsing Trump for president. Boom, take that DeSantis!

The lawmakers joining Trump on his adventure include Reps. Gus Bilirakis, Byron Donalds, Matt Gaetz, Carlos Gimenez, Brian Mast, Cory Mills, Anna Paulina Luna, Greg Steube, and Mike Waltz. Talk about a power-packed entourage! The Des Moines Register even reported that this move could divert attention away from DeSantis’s own campaign at the fair.

Trump’s ability to get under DeSantis’s skin is truly something to behold. In a recent interview, Trump called DeSantis a “failed candidate” and basically said he has no personality or anything going for him. Ouch! It seems like DeSantis is dropping like a rock, and Trump doesn’t even think he’ll hold onto the number two spot for long.

But let’s face it, Trump has every right to be confident. He’s leading the pack in the 2024 Republican nominating race, both nationally and in Iowa. A recent poll showed Trump with a whopping 44% support among Iowa Republicans, while DeSantis is trailing behind at just 20%. That’s a pretty massive 24-point gap. Trump loves to flaunt those numbers and remind everyone of his clear advantage over DeSantis.

And get this, Trump isn’t afraid to skip out on events where he might encounter DeSantis or his allies. He’s not participating in Gov. Kim Reynolds’s “fair-side chat” series, he dissed the Family Leader’s annual summit, and he didn’t show up to Sen. Joni Ernst’s “Roast and Ride” event. Talk about making a statement!

DeSantis’s campaign tried to hit back with a sassy comeback: “Rent free.” But let’s be real, Trump is living proof that he’s still very much on DeSantis’s mind.

The Iowa caucuses are just around the corner, and DeSantis needs a big win to build momentum for his quest to win the GOP nomination. His campaign is going all out, with plans for the governor to visit all 99 counties in Iowa. That’s some serious dedication! But with Trump stealing the spotlight at the state fair, DeSantis might have a tough time making his mark.

In other news, DeSantis’s campaign is facing its third shake-up with the announcement of a new campaign manager. Will this shake-up be the game-changer they need? Only time will tell. Stay tuned, folks!
