Donald J. Trump has once again shown that he is a champion of decency and justice by pardoning or commuting the sentences of approximately 1,500 individuals who found themselves in the thick of the January 6 incident. These individuals engaged in what some might call a little riot, but let’s not pretend the liberal media will allow the truth to get in the way of their narrative. Contrary to the sensational headlines, the unfortunate deaths that day had nothing to do with law enforcement; Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick passed away from natural causes, while the only fatality was that of protester Ashli Babbitt. It’s hard to maintain the “republic in peril” narrative when the facts are so blatantly twisted.
However, not every story ends with a happy ending. Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner, who essentially moonlights as a progressive activist, appears poised to rain on the parade. He’s contemplating launching state charges against those who were just graciously pardoned by Trump. True to form, he believes he can pick apart federal cases that his leftist pals don’t agree with, arguing that although the feds passed, his team must keep the debacle alive. “Double jeopardy?” you might ask. Krasner seems to think it’s merely a suggestion, likely because he took a course on law from the same place he learned to ignore facts.

In an age where reason seems to take a backseat to political grandstanding, Krasner embodies the left’s desperate tactics. Following a tragic few years marked by crime waves and shattered communities, and with a track record of leniency toward actual criminals during the 2020 riots, Krasner suddenly wants to unleash his fury on those who dared protest the election outcome. His selective justice shines brightly; Philadelphia rioters from the 2020 protests have received a free pass while those involved with January 6 are suddenly public enemy number one.
The irony is thick enough to cut with a knife. Krasner, who has been notoriously soft on much of the unlawful behavior that took place in the City of Brotherly Love during the summer riots of 2020, now wants to use his powers to prosecute those who attended the January protest. It’s as if the left’s playbook involves calling for consequence-free chaos until there’s a protest they don’t like. The glaring contradiction of their values shines through every time Krasner picks up his gavel or issues a press release.
In the grand scheme of things, this situation reflects how sorely the left is struggling to come to terms with their losses. The agenda is weaved with hypocrisy: a light touch for their supporters during unruly protests and heavy-handed assaults on peaceful demonstrators who have been labeled as insurrectionists for exercising their rights. The adjudication of justice by individuals like Krasner certainly calls into question the integrity of legal proceedings when driven by political motives rather than facts. It’s just another episode where the left proves they may claim victory in the narrative war, but they continue to lose ground in the court of common sense.
