Trump Reveals Assassination Attempt Blames FBI Lapses and Foreign Meddling

In a recent episode of the “Flagrant” podcast, former President Donald Trump unleashed a bombshell about a shocking assassination attempt that was made on his life during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. As the leading Republican candidate for the upcoming presidential election, Trump deconstructed the security breach, raising eyebrows about the lack of thorough investigations into the shooter’s devices. Apparently, the FBI’s idea of diligence is as nonexistent as an honest politician in Washington.

Trump painted a vivid picture of the incident, suggesting that the whole affair reeks of foreign meddling. He poked fun at the FBI, questioning why they have been unable—or perhaps unwilling—to unlock three mysterious cell phones found with the shooter. It seems that the FBI’s expertise in cracking cases isn’t quite as sharp as its expertise in collecting taxpayer dollars for unsatisfactory results.

The former president speculated about the apps on these phones being tied to malevolent foreign entities, including Iran, which has been forced to sit through plenty of Trump’s fireworks in the past. Seemingly undeterred by the gravity of the situation, Trump pointed out that the FBI’s refusal to access these devices is a glaring oversight. If only the FBI could apply their dedication to serious investigations more consistently, perhaps politicians wouldn’t have to dodge bullets in a country that’s supposed to be a beacon of democracy.

This assassination attempt stands out as one of the most severe breaches of security since President Ronald Reagan’s 1981 ordeal. The shooter, a 20-year-old named Thomas Matthew Crooks, managed to aim a nearby rooftop, injuring Trump in the ear and tragically causing one death and leaving two others critically wounded. The Secret Service Counter Sniper Team responded apace, taking down Crooks. But let’s be honest, what kind of circus allows an assailant onto the roof in the first place?

Images of a bloodied yet undeterred Trump triumphantly raising his fist went viral, and after a quick hospital visit, he was back on the trail soon after. Meanwhile, Kimberly Cheatle, who runs the Secret Service, faced a well-deserved backlash and eventually stepped down following an appearance before Congress. On top of that, President Joe Biden, in a rare moment of recognition of the seriousness of the situation, called for an independent review of the Secret Service’s protocols. It’s almost as if Biden thinks reviewing security lapses is going to somehow prevent future attempts.

Trump didn’t mince words when discussing Biden’s reaction, suggesting that any real leader would have made it very clear: threaten a former president, and the responding nation would face dire consequences. His ongoing campaign and reiteration of security concerns speak volumes about the lengths to which he’s willing to go to protect his interests and message. What’s next? Another rally in Butler? For Trump, it appears the show must go on, even if real bullets are flying overhead.
