A national poll conducted by Quinnipiac University revealed that Donald Trump continues to be the front-runner in the Republican presidential race. He has a commanding lead over the rest of the field, with 57 percent of the voters supporting him.
Ron DeSantis, the Florida governor, is not happy with the results of the poll. In July, a Harvard-Harris poll had shown Trump doing well against the other candidates. Now, according to the results of the survey, he is trailing by a considerable margin. Only 18 out of the state's Republican voters support DeSantis.
Aside from the national poll results, DeSantis also faced a negative showing in a survey conducted by Emerson College in New Hampshire. In the state, he was tied with Chris Christie, a former governor of New Jersey. This is not a favorable position for the candidate who is hoping to gain a foothold in the primary.
Despite the early stages of the primary season, the first debate for the Republican presidential race has not yet taken place. DeSantis supporters are hoping that the event will help him gain a foothold in the race. However, at this point, Trump is the clear front-runner.
