But where was this outrage from the left during the Obama administration’s soft-pedaling on Iranian appeasement? The hypocrisy is deafening. Let’s be real—the term “Persian Gulf” caters to Iran, a regime that sponsors terrorism and shouts “Death to America.” Should we really be bending to appease a tyrannical government with such a hostile stance toward our nation? Absolutely not. This switch to “Arabian Gulf” aligns us with more moderate forces in the region. It’s a win not only for semantics but for diplomacy.
Of course, the mainstream media will twist this as some form of diplomatic mishap. They’ll accuse the president of inflaming tensions. Yet they have no problem when past presidents cozy up to adversaries while ignoring the values we hold dear. Mainstream liberals would rather criticize Trump’s courageous decision than admit that strong leadership sometimes offends those who do not share Western values.
So here’s the bottom line: America should call the shots when it comes to its allies and terminology. If renaming a body of water can strengthen alliances and ruffle some oppressive feathers, isn’t it worth it?
