On the 81st birthday of President Joe Biden, the hosts of The View engaged in a substantive discourse regarding the likelihood of his re-election victory in 2024 and the potential lack of support from specific demographic groups. Recently, Vice President Kamala Harris acknowledged that re-election will require significant effort. The black vote is a demographic that the presenters are particularly concerned with. Without the support of black voters, the probable Democratic nominee could not prevail, according to co-host Sunny Hostin. A number of factors may impact the decision of black electors, including voting rights, student loan debt, funding for historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), police reform, and the absence of progress.

Concern was also conveyed by co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin regarding younger voters. She noted that the lack of student loan forgiveness may disillusion some individuals, while others may be dissatisfied with Biden's support for Israel in its conflict with Hamas. Sara Haines, a co-host, further expressed her astonishment at the youth's response to Biden's position on Israel. She stated that if youthful voters are dissatisfied with Biden's actions in the Middle East, they may be tempted to vote for Donald Trump instead.
The task of gaining the support of younger voters is not an exclusive one for Biden. When contemplating a hypothetical rematch with former President Donald Trump, it is presently observed that Trump is garnering a greater support base among voters aged 18 to 34. A recent survey indicates that Trump leads Biden by 4% in this age group. In addition, 59% of respondents under the age of 30 express skepticism regarding the state of the economy, which causes concern for the Biden administration. Janet Yellen, the secretary of the Treasury, has recognized the necessity of informing electors of Biden's actions regarding this matter.
Biden might have to exert considerable effort in his re-election campaign to persuade key demographics, including black voters and younger voters. These organizations are concerned with the economy, voting rights, student loan debt, and police reform, among other matters. If Biden wishes to secure a second term, it will be critical that he is capable of effectively communicating his accomplishments and addressing these concerns.
