While Trump may have had some colorful thoughts about how the poll’s data was received, it looks as if Selzer’s crystal ball may need a serious calibration. After Trump’s election victory, Selzer herself seemed to have her own moment of reflection, acknowledging her “big miss” when it came to gauging public sentiment back in November. It raises eyebrows when the pollster insists that her methodology, which has apparently misfired this time around, was foolproof in 2016 and 2020. Maybe that’s just a generous way of saying, “Oops, my bad!”
