America is finally back in the business of taking out the bad guys, and it’s about time. For too long, the left has hand-wrung and looked the other way as narco-terrorists tightened their grip on our southern neighbors. But now, the United States and Ecuador have thrown down the gauntlet. This isn’t the old, tired policy of weak warnings and empty speeches—it’s real action against the scourge of drug cartels that flood our streets with poison.
While the so-called “smart” set in Washington was busy cozying up to globalists and worrying about climate change, the Trump administration zeroed in on what actually matters: the safety of Americans and our allies. By supporting Ecuadorian troops and helping target designated terrorist organizations in their own backyard, the U.S. is showing what true leadership looks like. Advising on the ground—even if not kicking down the doors themselves—puts American muscle where it counts, and sends a loud message to cartel thugs everywhere: you’re no longer safe.

Ecuador, once a peaceful nation, has become a bloody battleground thanks to the unchecked flow of drugs from Colombia and Peru. Let’s not forget that 70 percent of the world’s cocaine moves through Ecuador’s ports. Decades of liberal dithering let cartels transform this country into a warzone almost overnight. Where were the “compassionate” progressives as families were torn apart and violence spread like wildfire? Too busy blaming America and coddling criminals to notice, apparently.
The only way to deal with terrorists—yes, that’s what these cartels are—is with strength. President Trump didn’t shy away from calling evil by its name, labeling these monsters as terrorists and bringing military might to bear. The U.S. Southern Command’s involvement marks a clear shift away from the failed Obama-era policies of “strategic patience.” Enough patience. Enough appeasement. Real lives are at stake, from American families to Ecuador’s own citizens trapped by cartel terror.
Thanks to decisive action and some much-needed backbone, narco-terrorists are on notice. Americans should be proud that, once again, we’re not afraid to stand up, get our hands dirty, and do what the world’s supposed superpowers refuse. Isn’t it funny how quickly the liberal establishment shrieks about “sovereignty” and “intervention” only when criminals are the ones threatened? Maybe it’s time they asked themselves who’s really benefiting from all their moralizing.
