In the latest throwdown between former President Donald Trump and his once ally, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Trump took a swipe at Christie’s failed presidential bid. During a Fox News town hall, Trump couldn’t resist taking a dig at Christie’s untimely exit from the race, highlighting a hot mic moment in which Christie made some not-so-glowing predictions about Nikki Haley’s campaign.
Trump quipped that Christie’s campaign announcement didn’t make much of a ripple, but the leaked audio of Christie dissing Haley stole the show. According to Trump, Christie said Haley doesn’t have what it takes and would be “creamed in the election.” Trump didn’t hold back, agreeing with Christie’s assessment and admitting it was one of the few things Christie got right.

When asked if Christie’s departure would impact the race, Trump dismissed the idea, suggesting it was unlikely to make a difference. He also joked about the potential of Christie being his pick for vice president, inciting laughter from the crowd.
So, in typical Trump fashion, the former president managed to throw some shade at his rivals while showcasing his trademark confidence and bravado. With no shortage of drama and one-liners, Trump’s town hall appearance was classic Trump — unapologetically partisan and entertainingly biased.
