President Trump is finally taking action to clean up the mess at our nation’s museums. For too long, the Smithsonian has used taxpayer money to push leftist propaganda instead of celebrating America’s greatness. The White House has ordered a full review of eight major museums in Washington DC to root out anti-American bias.
The problems are everywhere you look. Museum exhibits are teaching our children that America was built on racism and colonialism instead of freedom and opportunity. They even have displays praising Anthony Fauci as a hero while ignoring how he misled Americans during COVID. This is not what patriotic families want their tax dollars supporting.
Trump signed his “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History” executive order to fix this disaster. The order demands that exhibits focus on American exceptionalism instead of tearing down our founding fathers. Museums should inspire pride in our country, not shame about our past.
The Smithsonian gets over one billion dollars from hardworking taxpayers every year. That’s two-thirds of their entire budget coming straight from American families. We have every right to demand they stop using our money to spread divisive lies about our history.
Conservative watchdog Rachel O’Brien found exhibit after exhibit pushing liberal talking points. One display claims that 19th-century circuses showed America’s “colonial impulse to dominate the world.” Another promotes transgender ideology with rainbow flags that have no place in a history museum.
The administration has given museums 120 days to start making changes. They need to remove exhibits that focus on slavery, immigration complaints, and other divisive topics that make America look bad. Instead, they should highlight the incredible achievements that made us the greatest nation on earth.
Museum curators are crying about “academic freedom” but they forgot their real job. They work for the American people, not liberal universities or woke corporations. When you take taxpayer money, you serve taxpayer values.
This is exactly why we elected Donald Trump. He promised to drain the swamp and that includes the cultural swamp in our museums. Finally, our children will learn to love America again instead of being taught to hate their own country.
