President-elect Donald J. Trump has recently experienced a so-called legal judgment in the Manhattan “hush money” saga, orchestrated by District Attorney Alvin Bragg and known for his talent for drama, Judge Juan Merchan. For those with their heads in the sand, this trial was nothing more than a clown show designed to sideline the most significant political rival the Democrats can conjure up. After all, nothing screams “fair trial” like a left-wing witch hunt.
The case has come to a close, yet in classic liberal fashion, the mediocrity of the legal system was on full display. Merchan opted to give Trump an unconditional discharge—which, let’s be clear, is a lawyers’ term for “You get to keep your freedom.” This means Trump now sports a conviction on his record but no jail time, allowing him to skip off into the horizon of a second term. It appears the judges are aware that messing with the highest office in the land comes with a price, even if they tried to paint this circus into a moral victory.
Liberals are chomping at the bit to brand Trump as a convicted felon. In their minds, this new tagline will somehow spoil his upcoming inauguration. But consider this: no matter how many times the left hurls that phrase, it won’t change the fact that Trump proved once again he’s their worst nightmare—a political fighter who doesn’t back down. Call him what they will, he is still strapping on the presidential boots and marching into office, leaving Democrats to holler at each other in agony.

Of course, the left wants everyone to believe that Trump’s conviction is a milestone, a first for a US president, as if creating a special category of dishonor is supposed to be impressive. The reality is that while Trump stands with a conviction, Democrats are still tagging along behind a former president who was, let’s face it, credibly accused of sexual assault. Yet, they persist in attempting to moralize over Trump’s issues while conveniently ignoring their own party’s historical baggage. However, it’s clear the left is grasping at straws—it’s a poor attempt to regain some sort of emotional footing.
This legal charade may be a temporary win for the Democrats, but they need to face the music. Their struggle to keep Trump from the White House has failed spectacularly. The whole charade is just another reminder that the real circus exists on the left, where the lineup consists of dubious moral judgments and feigned outrage. So while they enjoy their moment in the moral spotlight, Americans will be tuning in to see Trump take the oath of office, a clear sign that even when the cards are stacked against him, the man knows how to turn the tide in his favor.
