Of course, this is not the first time that Judge Cannon has been involved in the drama that has followed President Trump since he left office. She actually stopped the government from reviewing classified documents found at Trump’s Florida residence, much to the former president’s delight. She was later overturned by an appeals court, but her decision still represented a small victory for the Trump team.
Legal analysts believe that Judge Cannon and another judge may have already played a role in the proceedings behind the scenes. If this is true, it would suggest that the court intentionally assigned the case to those judges, indicating that the indictment was related to the search warrant.
The case against former President Trump is unprecedented and is sure to have the nation’s attention. With Judge Cannon at the helm and Trump’s political operation on high alert, his opponents may face a steep uphill battle. The Biden administration, for their part, will have to be creative if they wish to take down the former president before he has a chance to stage a comeback.
