Former Hawaii Democrat Representative Tulsi Gabbard took aim at Joe Biden for his alleged misuse of the Department of Justice (DOJ) to target political opponents, specifically former President Donald Trump. In a fiery video posted on social media, Gabbard accused the Biden administration of threatening democracy by using the state security apparatus for political gain. She claimed that when a sitting president goes after political opponents and covers up lies and crimes committed by himself or his family, it is a “death rattle” for any democracy. Gabbard firmly asserted that Biden sees himself as exempt from the rule of law rather than its enforcer.

Gabbard also addressed the issue of Hunter Biden’s controversial foreign business dealings and suggested that Joe Biden may have been involved. She claimed that the evidence she has seen indicates a connection between the President and his son’s activities. The former Democrat expressed her disgust with the Democratic Party for defending the Biden administration despite its alleged actions against Trump.
The controversy surrounding Hunter Biden’s role on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, was also mentioned. Gabbard referred to testimony from one of Hunter’s former associates, Devon Archer, who claimed that Hunter’s position was used to intimidate individuals legally. She further highlighted Biden’s frequent calls to his son during dinners with Burisma associates and foreign oligarchs. The Congressional Oversight Committee reportedly found that these interactions resulted in payments of approximately $20 million to Hunter and his business partners.
In contrast, Gabbard noted that while the Biden family has been given leniency, Trump is currently facing four indictments for the upcoming 2024 election. The former President criticized the Biden administration, labeling them as part of a “two-tier” justice system aimed at silencing political opponents. The allegations made by Gabbard add fuel to the ongoing debate over the politicization of the DOJ and its consequences for American democracy.

Editorial Opinion: It is deeply concerning to see a former Democrat Representative speaking out against the Biden administration for what she perceives as a misuse of executive power. Gabbard’s accusations are not to be taken lightly, as they highlight the danger of weaponizing the DOJ for political purposes. It is crucial that we hold our leaders accountable and ensure that our justice system remains impartial and fair, regardless of political affiliations. The alleged double standard in how the Biden family is being treated compared to Trump should not be ignored. Americans deserve a justice system that is blind to political biases, and it is high time we demand answers and transparency from those in power.
