U.S. Hits Back Hard: Iran-Backed Terror Eats Dust after Attacking Troops

Amidst escalating tensions in Iraq, the recent drone attack targeting American personnel sparked a swift and decisive response from the U.S. military. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin asserted the might of the U.S. forces by executing precision strikes on three sites linked to the Iran-backed militia forces responsible for the cowardly assault.

Erbil, Iraq, witnessed the distressing fallout of this conflict as brave U.S. service members became the unfortunate victims of an attack on Christmas Day. This despicable act, leaving a soldier critically injured, punctuated a series of similar assaults on American troops stationed in the region since October 17, 2023. The frequency of these attacks, numbering over a hundred, had reached an intolerable level.

Responding to this relentless aggression, Defense Secretary Austin emphasized the necessity and proportionality of the strikes against facilities utilized by Kataeb Hezbollah and related groups. These precise actions aimed to curb the continuous onslaught faced by U.S. personnel, an unwavering response to the unchecked bullying tactics employed by Iranian-backed militias.

The claim of responsibility for the drone attack by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a coalition affiliated with Hashed al-Shaabi and integrated into Iraq’s armed forces, raises troubling concerns. The notion that individuals within the Iraqi armed forces would resort to such cowardly tactics is deeply disturbing.

These repeated assaults on U.S. troops stand as an affront to peace and stability in the region. The American servicemen and women in Iraq and Syria, diligently combating the resurgence of the Islamic State group, deserve unequivocal support and admiration. It's imperative to put an end to these deplorable attacks, to ensure the safety and security of all forces involved.
