UN Welcomes Uyghur Genocide Enabler: China’s Hikvision Gets Key Role

In a shocking turn of events, a Chinese surveillance company named Hikvision, which happens to be blacklisted by the United States for its support of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) atrocities against the Uyghur minority, has just been given a prominent position on the United Nations Global Compact. Yes, you read that right. A company complicit in the Uyghur genocide will now be helping the UN with “universal sustainability principles.” Can you smell the hypocrisy?

While Hikvision has made some vague promises to improve their human rights record, we all know that’s just smoke and mirrors. I mean, really, do they think a pinkie-swear is going to undo the fact that they have actively aided the CCP in surveilling, detaining, and oppressing the Uyghur population in Xinjiang? It’s absurd!

The Uyghurs, a Muslim ethnic minority in China, have suffered immensely under Chinese rule. Hundreds of thousands of Uyghurs are imprisoned in so-called “re-education camps,” women are being forcibly sterilized, families are torn apart, mosques are destroyed, and Uyghurs are imprisoned without trial. And now, the company responsible for facilitating this gross violation of human rights is being rewarded with a prominent UN position. It’s sickening.

But wait, there’s more! This revelation is just further evidence of China’s tightening grip on the United Nations. The communist nation has been actively maneuvering to place its officials in leadership positions and secure a seat on the human rights council panel. And now, they’ve successfully managed to get their surveillance company into the U.N. Global Compact. Bravo, China! You win again.

And let’s not forget who foots the majority of the bill for the UN – the good ol’ United States. That’s right, we contribute about 28 percent of the UN’s budget, while China only contributes a measly 15 percent. Without us, the UN would be seriously struggling. So why are we continuing to fund an organization that constantly works against our interests and allows companies complicit in genocide to hold influential positions? It’s time to cut the cord and let the UN figure out how to survive on its own.

This whole situation is a perfect example of why the UN has outlived its usefulness. It’s nothing more than a burden on American taxpayers, and it continually fails to stand up for human rights and the values we hold dear. It’s time for the United States to break free from the UN’s shackles and focus on protecting our own interests. Say goodbye to the UN and hello to a brighter future where we can make decisions based on our own principles, not the whims of a corrupt international organization. Good riddance, UN!
