In the early days of Donald Trump’s presidency, a Women’s March took place in Washington D.C. This march, which aimed to protest against Trump, unfortunately, had another unsavory aspect to it. It was filled with anti-Semitic individuals who used this opportunity to attack Jews and Israel. Despite conservatives highlighting this issue, the leaders of the Women’s March made excuses for the presence of these anti-Semites. It wasn’t until late 2018 to early 2019 that figures like Linda Sarsour were finally removed from the movement.
Even Joe Biden, to his credit, criticized Sarsour’s involvement in Democratic politics and emphasized that anti-Semites had no place in his campaign. However, this was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to the left’s problem with anti-Semitism. From Ilhan Omar’s anti-Jewish remarks to the Squad’s connections to Linda Sarsour, it has become apparent that there is a deep-rooted issue within the Democratic Party.
Recently, independent journalist organization The Canary Mission shed more light on Rashida Tlaib, one of the Squad members. Not only does Tlaib espouse anti-Semitic tropes, but she has actively sought help from and aided pro-terrorist organizations. One notable incident occurred in 2015 when Tlaib co-founded a hate group called Black4Palestine that associated with members of a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization.
The evidence provided by The Canary Mission is undeniable and highlights the dangerous connections these left-wing figures have with groups that seek the destruction of Jews. It is no different from the KKK or Neo-Nazis. Congress must take action against Tlaib and strip her of her committee assignments, denying her access to US intelligence. Furthermore, a thorough investigation into Tlaib’s connections should be conducted, and expulsion from Congress should be considered.
The threat of anti-Semitism is real, as seen by recent incidents where Jewish students had to hide from pro-Palestinian protestors on college campuses. These incidents are the result of the toxic ideology propagated by Tlaib, Omar, and the Squad. Congress, and the media for that matter, must not turn a blind eye to this issue. It is a matter of utmost importance to combat anti-Semitism in all its forms, no matter where it stems from. The American people deserve representatives who prioritize the safety and well-being of all communities.
