Once upon a time in Trumpland, there was some shock and disbelief as the news spread that the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) is cozying up to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the big boss of the infamous Wuhan Institute of Virology. The USDA should know better than to be buddy-buddy with the same folks who started the whole global pandemic mess!

It’s a real head-scratcher why the USDA would want to team up with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, especially since the Wuhan Institute of Virology has been at the center of controversy over the origins of the COVID-19 virus. It’s like the USDA is inviting the fox into the henhouse and saying, “Make yourselves at home!”
Conservatives are shaking their heads at this partnership, wondering if the USDA forgot about all the evidence suggesting that the virus could have leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. It’s enough to make you wonder whose side they’re on, and it certainly doesn’t feel like they’re on Team America.
This collaboration seems like a total slap in the face to the American people who have been dealing with the fallout of the pandemic. It’s a real shame that the USDA is cozying up to the same folks who might have played a role in unleashing this virus on the world.
In times like these, it’s important to keep a close eye on who Uncle Sam is cozying up to. And in this case, it feels a bit too close for comfort. The USDA should know better than to make friends with the wrong crowd, especially when it comes to matters as serious as global health.
