USPS Urges Homeowners to Upgrade Mailboxes to Curb Package Theft

The U.S. Postal Service wants homeowners to consider getting bigger mailboxes to address issues with package theft. Many people have experienced their packages being stolen, leading to a significant financial loss. To prevent this, the USPS recommends having a larger mailbox to fit all items securely. The Postal Service emphasizes that it will not profit from the mailbox upgrades and advises homeowners to visit home improvement stores for these larger mailboxes.

In addition to upgrading their mailboxes, the USPS suggests several other measures for Mailbox Improvement Week. These include securing loose hinges on mailbox doors, repainting mailboxes, replacing lost house numbers, and reinforcing loose mailbox posts.

The USPS’s message highlights the importance of taking proactive steps to safeguard mail and packages.
