The Democrats have made a sport out of calling Donald Trump a vulgar fool, but former Obama adviser Van Jones is throwing a wrench in their narrative. In a refreshing dose of reality, the CNN commentator recently opined that Trump is not just some buffoon; he’s a formidable strategist who has outplayed his critics. This isn’t just the opinion of a casual observer—it’s a shoulder shrug from a past insider, confirming what many on the right have long known: the man knows how to win.
Jones didn’t hold back in a recent interview, unequivocally stating that Trump might just be smarter than those who love to scoff at him. The president, according to Jones, has proven his intellect time and time again by winning significant political victories—gaining control of the White House, the Senate, the House, and the Supreme Court. For anyone still in denial about Trump’s savvy, soaking in these facts should deliver a reality check. If Trump is such an idiot, they’d have to explain how he amassed such a political empire amidst a barrage of attacks from almost all corners of the media.

Jones lamented that the Democrats’ continuous stream of hostility and disdain for Trump and his supporters is driving them straight off a cliff. From his perspective, they need a serious come-to-Jesus moment instead of diving deeper into their arrogance. The self-proclaimed political elites ought to take a hard look in the mirror and ask themselves what went wrong. If besting Trump was easy, they wouldn’t need to throw tantrums or engage in endless accusations. The real challenge for Democrats lies in figuring out how they lost to a man they dismiss as a fool. The answer may be uncomfortable for them, but perhaps it’s time to put aside the mockery and take a crash course in humility.
