Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth made a powerful statement Wednesday in Washington D.C. They visited our brave National Guard troops at Union Station to thank them for their service. These heroes are helping President Trump bring real law and order back to our nation’s capital.
The results speak for themselves. Since Trump’s federal takeover just nine days ago, violent crime has dropped 35 percent in D.C. Robberies are down over 50 percent thanks to these dedicated soldiers and police officers doing their jobs.
But left-wing protesters couldn’t stand seeing Americans safe and secure. They showed up screaming and booing while our leaders tried to honor the troops. These angry activists yelled “Free DC” like they want criminals running wild in our streets again.
Vance and the other officials didn’t back down from these troublemakers. They called out the protesters for what they are – radicals who hate seeing normal Americans enjoy safe communities. The Vice President said these people “appear to hate the idea that Americans can enjoy their communities.”
The visit happened at a Shake Shack inside Union Station. Our leaders bought lunch for the National Guard members as a small thank you for their sacrifice. This is what real leadership looks like – supporting our troops instead of attacking them.
Vance shared how his own family was “screamed at by violent vagrants” at this same station just a couple years ago. Now families can walk around safely thanks to Trump’s tough action. This proves you can bring law and order to any community if you have the guts to do it.
The contrast could not be clearer. On one side you have Trump’s team fighting for safe streets and supporting our military. On the other side you have left-wing protesters who want chaos and crime to return to D.C.
This is exactly why Americans voted for Donald Trump again. We want leaders who will stand up to the mob and protect hardworking families. Vance and Hegseth showed real backbone by visiting these troops despite the angry liberal crowd trying to stop them.
