It seems that when there’s a need for protection, she finds it convenient to cozy up to those she generally prefers to criticize.

Despite her concerns, one has to wonder: if Harris is so anti-violence, why doesn’t she turn those same sentiments toward her party’s more radical elements? In her statement, she noted how “thankful” she was that Trump came out unscathed, suggesting that perhaps even she recognizes that a world without her political enemies is a lot less engaging. With a side of gratitude and a dash of dismay, the Biden administration’s stance on protecting the former president stands tall for now. Politics, it appears, is a game where allies can quickly turn into foes — unless, of course, it means scoring points against Trump.
