Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the United States, is once again drawing ridicule and criticism, this time for her attempt to define the word “culture” during an event at the Essence Festival of Culture. The video of her struggling to articulate a clear definition has gone viral, and Twitter users are having a field day roasting her.
Conservative comedian and author Tim Young shared the video, comparing Harris’s attempt to a 9-year-old giving a book report on a book they didn’t read. He even went as far as saying it was more cringeworthy than most of President Biden’s talks. Ouch! Harris’s choice of words has often been the target of mockery, including her ranting speech at a pro-abortion rally earlier this year and her puzzling remarks about Venn diagrams and school buses in January.
In the video, Harris stumbles through her definition of culture, saying it is a reflection of the current moment and time. She goes on to say that present culture is the way we express our feelings about the moment and that we should always find times to express how we feel. The whole thing is a jumble of vague statements that leave viewers scratching their heads.
Harris’s comments were so strange that many Twitter users likened her to an AI chatbot, suggesting that her words lacked any real substance or meaning. Even Academy Award-winning actor James Woods got in on the action, posting a sarcastic tweet comparing Harris to an “Artificial Intelligence Czar.”

Conservative radio talker Chris Stigall didn’t hold back in his criticism, calling Harris the “emptiest human being alive.” Journalist Karen Townsend simply exclaimed, “Good Lord,” while YouTuber Ranting Monkey mocked Harris for her tendency to make confusing quotes about quotes.
It’s clear that Harris’s attempt to define “culture” has once again raised doubts about her ability to serve as Vice President. Her struggles with articulating clear and meaningful statements continue to be a source of amusement and concern for many. Whether it’s a result of poor communication skills or a lack of substance, Harris’s words are not inspiring confidence in her ability to lead.
