Socialist politician Zohran Mamdani just won the Democratic primary for New York City mayor. But this wealthy lawmaker is living a total lie. He makes $143,000 a year but pays just $2,300 for his apartment through a program meant to help poor families.
This is exactly what’s wrong with big government housing programs. Mamdani uses taxpayer-funded rent control while preaching about helping the little guy. Meanwhile, actual working families who need affordable housing can’t find it because rich politicians like him are hogging the good deals.
Even disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo is calling out this hypocrisy. Cuomo wants Mamdani to move out immediately and make room for a homeless family. He’s proposing “Zohran’s Law” to stop wealthy people from stealing rent-controlled apartments from those who really need them.
But here’s the kicker – Mamdani wants to freeze ALL rents in the city if he becomes mayor. This socialist scheme will destroy property rights and drive landlords out of business. When landlords can’t pay their bills, buildings fall apart and everyone suffers.
Mamdani’s wife even lives with him in this tiny one-bedroom apartment meant for low-income families. These two privileged elites are gaming the system while pretending to fight for working people. It’s disgusting and shows the true face of today’s Democratic Party.
The real estate industry is already panicking about Mamdani’s radical plans. His rent freeze proposal would kill new construction and make the housing crisis even worse. Only a socialist would think destroying the free market helps anyone.
This is what happens when voters elect far-left politicians who hate capitalism. They talk about helping the poor while they line their own pockets with government benefits. Mamdani represents everything that’s wrong with New York’s corrupt political system.
