The White House press secretary recently had to school a New York Times reporter who demonstrated not only ignorance but a clear anti-Trump bias. In a press conference that left jaws dropping, the reporter dared to question President Trump’s strategy regarding peace talks with Russia and Ukraine. The exchange highlighted just how out of touch some in the mainstream media are.
While the Trump administration is breaking ground in efforts to end the tragic war in Ukraine, this reporter seemed more interested in playing political games. He pondered why President Trump wouldn’t take a call from Putin with European leaders looking on. It’s comical that such a question even needed addressing. The reality is that diplomatic dialogues aren’t theater; they’re about real progress. Trump showed leadership by keeping conversations direct and strategic.

Let’s talk about the numbers: 250,000 Russian soldiers and tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers have perished. Thousands of innocent civilians, some just children, are caught in the crossfire. Yet, some reporters are more worried about optics unless, of course, it allows them to criticize Trump. It’s an insult to the intelligence of any human being who desires an end to this bloodshed.
Unlike the previous administration, President Trump has made strides toward peace that seemed unimaginable just months ago. He had substantive talks with key global leaders, and the progress is evident. Trump broke the ice with Putin, which led to a potential meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy. This is leadership. It’s not about playing to the crowd, as the left would prefer, but about getting results.
Not everyone wants peace, though, not if it means giving credit where credit’s due. Certain factions are using this conflict to further their agenda, even at the cost of more lives. Such motivations should have no place when human lives are at stake. Does the left have anything other than tired narratives and hollow criticisms to offer?
