Whoopi Goldberg stunned her co-hosts on The View with a surprising admission about the upcoming presidential election. She boldly proclaimed that if Donald Trump is re-elected, then the American people “deserve what we get.” Goldberg suggested that if Trump wins, it means that the citizens of the United States “were not loud enough” in their opposition.

Co-host Joy Behar wasted no time in distancing herself from Goldberg’s remarks. Behar emphatically stated that she will not be voting for Trump and made it clear that she didn’t want to be included in Goldberg’s statement. Another co-host, Sunny Hostin, expressed her fear that a second Trump presidency would “destroy the country.”
Goldberg continued to elaborate on her point, stating, “Listen, if he gets re-elected, we deserve what we get. If we put him back in, if he gets back in, we deserve what we got.” She even went as far as to suggest that if Trump triumphs, it would imply that the US Constitution isn’t “strong enough to keep this bozo out.”
From a conservative perspective, Goldberg’s comments reflect a dismissive and condescending attitude toward Trump supporters. It seems she believes that those who vote for him are somehow responsible for any negative consequences that may arise from his re-election. This type of rhetoric does nothing to foster unity or understanding between political parties.
In a previous interview, Goldberg compared Trump supporters to “cult members,” furthering the divide between conservatives and liberals. It’s disheartening to see individuals in the media vilify and demean those with differing political beliefs, rather than seeking common ground and understanding.
While it is fair for media personalities to express their concerns about a potential Trump presidency, it is important to approach these discussions with respect and open-mindedness. The inflammatory language used by MSNBC host Jen Psaki, who warned of Trump prosecuting his political opponents and unraveling the rule of law, only serves to fuel fear and panic among liberals.
Trump himself has made it clear that he takes issue with the biased coverage of NBC News and MSNBC. In a Truth Social post, he called for their investigation, accusing them of “Country Threatening Treason.” While it is understandable that the former president feels misrepresented by certain media outlets, his language and tone can be seen as unnecessarily divisive.
Overall, these recent comments and actions by media figures and politicians highlight the deep political polarization that exists in the United States. It is crucial for individuals on both sides of the aisle to engage in respectful and constructive dialogue in order to bridge the gap and work towards a better future for all Americans.
