Will Biden Kick Kamala to the Curb?! Find Out Inside!

Even liberal icon Nancy Pelosi has doubts about Kamala Harris as Joe Biden’s choice for vice president. Pelosi, a California liberal, gave Harris some credit for being politically astute, but stopped short of giving her a full endorsement. And honestly, Pelosi’s claim that Harris is politically astute is a bit of a stretch. Harris has been a disaster for the Biden administration, with her constant word salad episodes and awkward behavior becoming a source of mockery. That’s why they try to keep her out of the spotlight as much as possible.

Interestingly, there are rumors that even Democrats themselves admit that Biden is too old for the job, and many believe that Harris is not qualified for her role as vice president. Several columnists have written about the idea of replacing Harris, although it’s just an academic exercise for now. Politico reported that a few columnists believe that dumping Harris and choosing a stronger running mate would make Biden more electable in 2024.

One columnist, Eric Levitz from New York Magazine Intelligencer, threw out some options for a replacement, including Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Senator Raphael Warnock from Georgia, Senator Tammy Duckworth from Illinois, and Representative Lauren Underwood, also from Illinois. Levitz acknowledges that it’s risky to switch out the first Black and female vice president for someone else, but he argues that it’s also risky to stick with an unpopular running mate who could easily become the party’s nominee in 2028.

Though dumping Harris could have backlash among Black voters, writer Josh Barro argues that Democrats shouldn’t worry about that since Harris has never been a major draw for Black voters. In fact, she’s never even been elected in a jurisdiction with a large Black population. So, it seems unlikely that Harris will be going anywhere for now. But the fact that Democrats are even entertaining the idea of replacing her shows that they’re starting to get nervous about a potential Trump-Biden rematch in 2024. They know they need to make upgrades to their roster, but it might not be as easy as they think.
