During a heated discussion about the recent Supreme Court judgment on affirmative action, Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears did not hesitate to criticize Associate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson for what she perceived to be a diversity hire. And people, it's about time someone said it!
Sears did not hesitate to address Jackson's dissent, which was read by the ever-charming Martha MacCallum, in an interview with Fox News. Now, people, brace yourselves for some serious academic jargon, but I'll explain it in terms that everyone can comprehend.
Jackson's dissent essentially stated, "Hey, the majority is being all puffed up about colorblindness and stuff, but that doesn't mean racism disappears magically in the real world." And let me tell you, she did not appreciate it. Neither was Justice Sotomayor, who argued that this decision was contrary to what Americans truly desire. Excuse me, but does Hollywood now have the authority to write our laws?
The clincher, however, is that Sears went for the throat. She had the audacity to assert that Justice Jackson was appointed due to her race and gender alone! Yikes! And, do you know what? She may very well be onto something! It appears that diversity quotas and political decorum are currently of greater importance to some individuals than actual qualifications. What a bizarre universe we inhabit!
And while the liberal elites are preoccupied with their absurd identity politics game, Sears would like to remind them of a real crisis occurring right under their noses. Clearly, the American educational system is in disarray. Our children are falling behind, and neither affirmative action nor its absence is to blame. No, gentleman! It's because China, Russia, and the rest of these cunning nations are playing the long game while we argue over college admissions.
Sears is aware that we must concentrate on the actual issues. Our children are graduating from high school, but they still require remedial courses in college? This is a travesty, people! And do you know who's footing the bill? Indeed, both you and I. Our tax dollars are used to fund loans for students who should have learned this material in secondary school. It is time to assert ourselves and demand genuine solutions.
What is Sears' solution to this mess? Please begin the drum roll… SCHOOL OPTION! That is correct, people. She believes that parents should have the ability to choose the finest education for their children. It is time to liberate families from the failing public education system and provide them with the opportunity to thrive.
So, there it is, gentlemen. Sears isn't afraid to voice her mind, and it's refreshing to see someone who isn't afraid to question the status quo. Affirmative action may be a thing of the past, but our fight for a more equitable and equal educational system is just beginning. Let's support policies that place our children first and give them the tools they need to succeed in a world that is constantly changing. The end of the story, people! Stay tuned for additional conservative insights from me.
