AOC Mislabels Ivy League Unrest as Peaceful, Ignoring Violence

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democratic lawmaker from New York, recently defended the protests happening at Ivy League universities like Columbia, Yale, and Berkeley, calling them “peaceful” and praising the leadership of young people involved. Calling these protests peaceful is like calling a hurricane a gentle breeze. These protests have been anything but peaceful, with reports of harassment, attacks on Jewish students, and dangerous altercations. It’s important to see through the smoke and mirrors and recognize the truth behind these events.

It’s concerning when politicians like AOC try to downplay the violence and chaos of these protests to fit their own narrative. By labeling them as “peaceful,” they are essentially turning a blind eye to the real harm being done to students and the campus community. This type of gaslighting only serves to enable and embolden the radical activists behind these protests, giving them a pass for their unacceptable behavior.

It’s crucial for public officials to address these protests seriously and take appropriate action to ensure the safety and well-being of all students. Ignoring or excusing violence and harassment under the guise of activism sets a dangerous precedent and undermines the very principles of civil discourse and peaceful protest. Leaders should be held accountable for their words and actions, especially when they seek to justify or defend indefensible behavior.
