The once bustling neighborhood has devolved into a haven for unsavory activities like street vending by migrants and even reports of open prostitution that target individuals of all ages, including vulnerable teenagers.
The situation has deteriorated to the point where one of the main streets, Roosevelt Avenue, has earned the infamous moniker of “the market of sweethearts,” highlighting its sordid reputation for illegal activities like sex work. This decline in law and order in AOC’s district is a direct result of failed liberal policies that have allowed such lawlessness to thrive.

The streets in AOC’s district are now plagued with filth and overflowing trash, creating a breeding ground for diseases and a dangerous environment for law-abiding citizens. The liberal utopia of New York City has recently announced a rollback on its obligation to provide shelter for homeless individuals, a move that could worsen the already dire situation in the city. The decision to limit adult migrants to a 30-day stay in city shelters is a Band-Aid solution to a much larger problem created by the failed policies of radical leftists.
The influx of migrants into New York City’s shelter system has put a strain on resources and has forced officials to reevaluate their approach to handling the crisis. By scaling back on their “right-to-shelter” mandate, New York City is finally taking steps to address the root causes of homelessness and criminal behavior that have been exacerbated by the liberal agenda.
