A month has passed since the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and the incident has provided just another glimpse into the dark underbelly of political intolerance that seems to be the hallmark of the modern left. While the left preaches tolerance from their high horse, they conveniently forget that different opinions come with consequences for those who dare to exercise their First Amendment rights.
At the rally, a 20-year-old gunman named Thomas Matthew Crooks unleashed chaos, injuring Trump himself and taking the life of rallygoer Corey Comperatore. The toll didn’t end there, as two others were also caught in the crossfire, including James Copenhaver, a witness whose dramatic recording captured a shadowy figure lurking on a rooftop, a chilling reminder of just how low some will stoop to silence dissent. Copenhaver ended up with multiple gunshot wounds but managed to capture evidence of a potential conspiracy rather than a random act of violence.
Copenhaver, injured in both the arm and abdomen, recounted the moment he became aware of the violence surrounding him. Initially shocked, he didn’t even realize he’d been shot a second time. The irony, however, of a man dedicated to supporting free speech taking bullets at a political event could not be lost on anyone seeking to understand how badly this nation has veered off course under the guise of political correctness.
