The Biden administration continues to showcase its remarkable ability to undermine allies while cozying up to adversaries. At a time when Israel is engaged in a fierce battle against the terrorist group Hamas, the U.S. government has ventured into the dangerous territory of pressuring Tel Aviv to pursue a ceasefire—an ultimatum that goes against common sense and international law. As if it weren’t enough that Biden has been hiding away in Rehoboth Beach, we now see his administration conspiring with Egypt and Qatar to force Israel to the negotiating table.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich of Israel has had enough of the public relations game. He has pointed out the absurdity of negotiating terms with an organization that has shown little regard for human life, especially after the heinous attacks on October 7. Smotrich went so far as to state that this proposed ceasefire would be falling into a “dangerous trap”—a term that could not be more fitting given the circumstances. The minister aptly noted the lack of equivalence between hostages held by terrorists and criminals imprisoned for their own offenses. Yet, while it seems like common sense that one should never negotiate with terrorists, the Biden administration spouts its usual rhetoric about saving lives, all while ignoring the broader implications of weakness on the world stage.
The White House’s national security spokesman John Kirby recently lashed out at Smotrich, labeling his statements as “dead wrong.” Apparently, Kirby believes that the path to peace lies in capitulation to Hamas. The irony is thick here, as Kirby’s comments highlight the administration’s complete disconnection from the reality that Israel needs to finish the job and remove the terrorist threat altogether. The insistence that lives must be saved by stopping the fight is not only naive but also grossly underestimates the resolve of those seeking to destroy Israel.
Meanwhile, the reality on the ground tells a different story. As Israel continues its military operations targeting Hamas operatives hiding in schools and mosques, the media predictably churns out reports focusing on civilian casualty figures, ignoring the complexities and strategic necessity of the actions taken by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The IDF maintains that it makes every effort to avoid civilian casualties, employing precision weaponry and intelligence to minimize harm. Still, factual accuracy doesn’t seem to matter to the left when following their narrative.
In the shadowy rooms of power, Biden’s absence is deafening while his administration piles pressure on Israel, pushing for a cease-fire with Hamas that some perceive as a betrayal. Netanyahu's government is fracturing, caught between hostage lives and… https://t.co/rHq8MY6mtB

Critics of Israel seem more concerned with Palestinian numbers than with those of Israeli hostages—a shocking twist in an already convoluted narrative about who genuinely values human life. The idea that there should ever be a bargaining position that equates innocent hostages with convicted criminals is ethically and morally bankrupt. The Biden administration’s narrative of prioritizing hostages while criticizing Israel’s military strategy represents a clear case of virtue signaling that disregards the gravity of the situation.
In an increasingly polarized world, the Biden administration’s actions could lead to devastating consequences, not only for Israel but for any nation that dares to stand firm against terrorism. If Biden’s approach continues to sway toward appeasement rather than support for legitimate self-defense, the ramifications would extend far beyond the Middle East, impacting allies and adversaries alike. The need for a strong, united front against terrorism has never been clearer, yet the current administration’s strategy seems more akin to playing politics than addressing the reality of existential threats.
