The Biden administration is once again making headlines, and not in a good way. A website that tracks federal funding of union work has mysteriously vanished into thin air, leaving many wondering what the administration is trying to hide.

The website, which monitored “official time” – when taxpayer-funded federal employees use their work hours to advocate for public unions – had been a crucial tool for transparency since 2013. But over the summer, it suddenly disappeared, raising eyebrows and concerns among conservative watchdogs.
The Freedom Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to monitoring such issues, uncovered the Biden administration’s sneaky move. According to the group’s report, the Tracking site was housed on the Office of Personnel Management’s website before it vanished without a trace.
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) tried to explain away the disappearance, claiming that the website was being restructured to enhance user experience. However, the Freedom Foundation fired back, calling out the administration for its lack of transparency.
The Department of Labor remained tight-lipped, refusing to comment on the situation. This silence only adds to the suspicion swirling around the Biden administration’s actions.
The very foundation of this issue stems from the age-old problem of federally-funded employees working on behalf of unions, a practice that has been in place since 1978. However, the lack of proper oversight and accountability has led to rampant abuse of this system.
Former President Donald Trump took steps to regulate and limit official time use in the federal government with an executive order in 2018, only to have President Biden sweep it away upon taking office. This move has been met with criticism from those who see it as a blatant disregard for the American taxpayer.
The Freedom Foundation’s Ashley Varner emphasized the gravity of the situation, highlighting the detrimental impact on hardworking taxpayers. She drew attention to the fact that the absence of the reporting website for over three months indicates a deliberate attempt by the administration to keep the public in the dark.
In essence, the disappearance of the website is symptomatic of a larger issue – the lack of accountability and transparency in the Biden administration. By removing this vital tool for monitoring union work, the administration has once again shown its allegiance to the unions at the expense of the hardworking American taxpayer.
