President Biden’s decision to allow a UN ban on Iran’s missile development to expire is a dangerous move that will have serious consequences. The sanctions, which seek to constrain Iran’s missile and drone activity, are set to expire on October 18. If they do, Iran will be free to sell its ballistic missiles and related technology to its anti-Western partners and clients, including terrorists groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.
This move by the Biden administration is a slap in the face to Israel and a reward for terrorism. Just days after condemning the brutal attacks by Hamas terrorists, President Biden is giving a gift to Iran, the sponsor of Hamas. It’s a clear example of the administration’s weak stance on terrorism and lack of support for our allies in the Middle East.

Not only will Iran be able to sell its missiles to terrorist organizations, but the funds from these sales will likely be used to fuel even more violence and terror around the world. It’s a dangerous game that President Biden is playing, and it puts innocent lives at risk.
Additionally, allowing the UN sanctions to lapse sends a message of irresolution to Iran. It shows that the international community is not willing to take a strong stance against Iran’s aggressive actions. This will only embolden Iran to double down on its support for terror proxies and arms proliferation. The more confident Tehran feels, the greater the threat they pose to global security.
It is long overdue for the UN to reimpose sanctions on Iran and for President Biden to take a strong stance against the arming of terrorist groups. The international community must send a clear message that they will not tolerate Iran’s support for terrorism. Failure to do so will only lead to more violence and instability in the region.
