Biden Bows to Conservative Icon O’Connor, But Forgets Her Roots?

President Biden may not be hitting it out of the park with his policies, but at least he’s showing some respect for the late Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. In true Democrat form, Biden ordered the U.S. flags to be flown at half-mast at the White House, military bases, and federal buildings in honor of O’Connor, who passed away at the age of 93. It’s always nice to see a President take a break from piling on new regulations and give a nod to a conservative trailblazer like O’Connor.

The President’s proclamation kept things pretty neutral, saying O’Connor was an American icon and the first woman on the highest court, which was all well and good. However, it’s important to remember that O’Connor was a conservative powerhouse who didn’t get caught up in all the liberal hoopla like some of the other justices have. It’s good to pay respects, but let’s not forget where she stood on the issues.

Sure, the Supreme Court put up some black drapes in remembrance of O’Connor, which is a nice gesture and all, but where’s the recognition of her conservative legacy? She was appointed by President Reagan, served until 2006, and was a stronghold for conservative values during her time on the bench. It’s important for the current administration and the high court to honor her legacy as a trailblazer for conservative principles.

In the end, it’s nice to see some recognition for O’Connor’s impact on the Supreme Court, but let’s not water down her conservative legacy with vague proclamations and gestures. Rest in peace, Justice O’Connor, your conservative legacy will always be remembered.
