Joe Biden was called out for his lies on Thursday after falsely claiming that MAGA Republicans want to defund the police. This statement is a complete contradiction to the past five years of politics, as it has been the far-left Democrats who have been pushing for the defunding of police departments. Biden’s false claims were quickly met with criticism from prominent individuals and social media users who have been paying attention to the political climate.

The most absurd part of Biden’s statement is that MAGA Republicans have been staunchly opposed to the idea of defunding the police, while Democrats have been pushing for it. This was made evident by a tweet from RNC Research which included a nine-minute video of Democrats calling to defund the police. Biden’s false claims were also met with criticism from Washington Examiner columnist Ian Haworth, PJ Media columnist Ryan Ledendecker, and Twitter personality James Bradley.

Former House of Representatives candidate Josh Barnett was particularly vocal about Biden’s lies, tweeting, “All he does is lie…no MAGA Republican ever said to defund police!!! But we did say defund the crooked FBI ’til they stop attacking Americans for political retaliation.”
It is clear that Joe Biden is trying to rewrite history by falsely claiming that MAGA Republicans want to defund the police. This is a blatant attempt to distract from the fact that it is the far-left Democrats who have been pushing for such measures. It is time for Biden to stop lying and face the facts that it is his own party who has been calling for the defunding of police departments.
