A historian who helped write speeches for President Joe Biden said he found it “reassuring” to see former President Donald Trump facing trial. The historian, Jon Meacham, mentioned that Trump was on trial due to a payment made to Stormy Daniels, a porn star, as part of a confidentiality agreement.
Meacham emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law, stating that seeing Trump in a courtroom shows that the law is above any single individual. He highlighted the idea that in America, the law reigns supreme, not any one person’s ambitions.

This news comes as Biden had reportedly considered hiring Meacham for a position in the White House. The trial is set to begin with opening arguments scheduled for Monday following jury selection on Friday.
