James Comer, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, said on Newsmax TV that he believes there are enough votes to launch an impeachment investigation against Joe Biden following the revelation that he communicated with Hunter Biden about his corruption and business dealings.
According to Comer, this tool must be used to win in court as he believes that there is a point where the low-hanging fruits have been picked. He also stated that he has been talking to Kevin McCarthy and he anticipates a vote in September.

According to Comer, they would use the impeachment process to force government agencies, such as the National Archives, to provide relevant information. He and other Republicans, such as Marjorie Taylor Greene, are committed to holding Biden accountable, and they want to get the investigation started as soon as possible.
Joe Biden responded to James Comer's confident statements by brushing off the idea of impeachment. He then mocked the Republicans for continuously attacking him. He noted that they may have to find another target now that inflation is starting to come down.
