An individual who formerly oversaw the Border Patrol disclosed to Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden that neither of them bothered to answer the phone or discuss the border crisis during his two-year tenure as the agency's top executive.

In a 60 Minutes interview, Raul Ortiz, who oversaw the federal Border Patrol from June 2021 to June 2023, revealed everything, including the fact that the highest-ranking officials in the White House never bothered to inquire about the massive border disaster.
"One conversation with the president has never occurred." In fact, the vice president could be mentioned. Thus, I assumed the position of Border Patrol director. I oversaw 21,000 individuals. "That is a problem," Ortiz complained on a Sunday evening CBS News program.

Further compounding the situation, Ortiz, an agency veteran of 32 years, stated that the Biden administration had "absolutely" conveyed contradictory information to individuals contemplating illicit entry into the United States. Ortiz asserts that this has benefited criminal organizations and cartels more than the states of Texas and Washington, D.C., which are engaged in a power struggle.
What is the solution? Ortiz believed that the crucial factor was conveying the message to individuals in Central and South America, Mexico, and beyond that attempting to enter the United States clandestinely without a legitimate asylum claim would result in their expulsion.
However, that merely represents a portion of it! Ortiz argues that despite expelling and expeling approximately 4 million individuals in the past three years, the Biden administration has released nearly 3 million others in the United States. This suggests that individuals from outside the country have received the message that illegal immigration is not a significant issue.
However, retain your headwear, for there is more! Additionally, Ortiz expressed his displeasure with the Republicans by criticizing Governor Greg Abbott (R-Texas). To bolster border security, Abbott and the Texas legislature have allocated $11 billion to Operation Lone Star. However, Ortiz is unimpressed, accusing Abbott and the legislators of using Border Patrol agents and National Guard soldiers as pawns in their political chess game.
Additionally, this heated mess sundae is topped with ice cream. Ortiz testified before Congress and categorically stated that the border was as secure as a submarine's screen door, in direct opposition to the position of Homeland Security chief Alejandro Mayorkas. Why is there such a frenzy surrounding the border?
Ortiz envisions a border patrol operation that operates with the same level of efficiency and courtesy as a visit to Chick-fil-A. Undoubtedly, there are enormous expectations!
Furthermore, in an earlier time, Ortiz secured a front-row position at the Capitol for President Trump's State of the Union address. Not bad at all for a Border Patrol leader!
