In a classic case of the Biden Administration trying to tip the scales in their favor, a federal judge just put the kibosh on a sneaky move they were trying to pull concerning employers and independent contractors. You see, dear readers, the lefties in charge have been pushing for the PRO Act, a piece of legislation that would have caused major headaches for businesses and workers alike. But, have no fear, because Congress shut that down.
"Federal Judge Slaps Down NLRB Rule on Employers, Contractors That Was Sneaky Workaround of Failed PRO Act"
So, Acting Secretary of Labor, Julie Su, she of the disastrous AB5 in CA, which has basically ruined contract work there before failing up to the federal level, tried to…— Gray Wolf (@graywolf442) March 11, 2024
Not to be outdone, the Biden team tried to slip in a backdoor approach through a Department of Labor rule. Sneaky, sneaky. But thankfully, the good guys like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce weren’t having any of it. They took the fight to court, arguing that the rule was too broad and violated federal labor laws. And wouldn’t you know it, the judge agreed.
U.S. District Judge J. Campbell Barker swooped in like a superhero, blocking the implementation of this shady NLRB rule in the nick of time. He saw right through the administration’s attempt to control who could work as an independent contractor. Bravo, Judge Barker! This ruling saved the day for businesses and contractors who would have been unfairly affected.
It warms the heart to see the rule of law upheld and the government overreach thwarted. The Biden administration just can’t seem to play by the rules, can they? But fear not, because vigilant watchdogs like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce are here to keep them in check. Let this be a lesson to those in power – we’re watching, and we won’t stand for any funny business. The fight for freedom and fairness continues!
