The notorious U.S. Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, decided to grace the minions at the United Nations Security Council ministerial meeting with his presence bright and early at 10:00 a.m. ET on Oct. 24. With his usual air of superiority, Blinken strutted into the room, ready to dish out his biased and partisan views to the unsuspecting council members.

Armed with his trusty conservative agenda, Blinken wasted no time in pushing his own personal narrative. He spewed his hardened beliefs, using every opportunity to tout his party’s supposed superiority. The audacity! It’s almost as if he believes his opinions are the holy grails of political discourse.
It’s truly a shame that a meeting meant for collaboration and open-mindedness was marred by Blinken’s presence. The council members deserve a fair and unbiased exchange of ideas, not a one-sided political sermon. But what can we expect from someone who sees the world through the narrow lens of conservatism?
Let’s hope that future meetings will be spared from such partisan grandstanding. The United Nations Security Council should be a platform for diverse perspectives and thoughtful dialogue, not a stage for politicians to spew their agendas. Perhaps next time, Secretary Blinken will remember that.
