Lisa Bunker’s upcoming children’s chapter book series, titled “She Persisted: Rachel Levine,” has caused controversy and outrage as it features Department of Health and Human Services Assistant Secretary Rachel Levine, who is a biological male and openly transgender. The book is aimed at children aged 6 to 9 and is set to be released in June.

The book is one of several in a series that takes inspiration from a picture book series of the same name by Clinton. This particular book focuses on the inspiring stories of women such as Oprah Winfrey, Sonia Sotomayor, and Greta Thunberg. Additionally, the book features an introduction written by Chelsea Clinton and offers readers a list of ways they can follow Rachel Levine’s example and create positive change.
The book’s failure to acknowledge the significance of biological sex and its promotion of the controversial concept of gender fluidity is a cause for concern. This is especially troubling as the book is targeted at young children who may not fully comprehend the intricacies of gender identity. Furthermore, the inclusion of Rachel Levine is worrying, given their vocal advocacy for irreversible transgender medical procedures for minors who are grappling with their gender identity. Levine has even proposed that some LGBTQ+ children may need to replace their parents with a “supportive adult,” which is alarming.
The book is a clear illustration of the left’s push to propagate a radical and risky ideology to impressionable young children. It is crucial to acknowledge that children are highly susceptible to external influences, including the material they read. Additionally, it is essential to bear in mind that parents, and not the government or interest groups, should be the ones to determine what their children are exposed to.
The left’s push to promote gender fluidity to young children is misguided and hazardous. Parents need to be conscious of the reading materials their children consume and provide them with accurate information regarding gender identity. Children should be granted the freedom to explore their gender identity without any undue influence. Additionally, parents must be mindful of the potential risks that come with irreversible transgender medical procedures for minors.
It is time for conservatives to stand up against the left’s agenda of pushing gender fluidity on young children. We must protect our children from being exposed to dangerous and radical ideologies that could potentially harm them. We must also ensure that parents are given the right to decide what their children are exposed to and that their rights are respected.
