Now, don’t get it twisted; CNN didn’t stop there. They added all the bells and whistles by sending a reporter to Iran to sip coffee and paint a rosy picture of the regime. In a bizarre twist, viewers were fed scenes of calm streets and plentiful fuel supplies, all thanks to filming with what looked like a phone from the early 2000s. Before you start counting the bullet points, here’s the kicker: the plan wasn’t even real. It was as fake as claiming that cats can bark, yet CNN plastered it all over their screens to the embarrassment of well, everyone but Iran. The supposed plan aimed to make the U.S. look weak and the Iranian regime triumphant, only there was one minor problem – it was pure fiction.
As expected, the world took notice, and CNN faced a barrage of criticism. Even the FCC wasn’t pleased.
