In a stunning twist of events, Democratic strongholds across the nation are making a U-turn on their crime policies as the 2024 presidential election looms closer. It seems like even the left is finally admitting that being tough on crime is the way to go, a notion that was strongly rejected just a few years back during the heyday of the Black Lives Matter protests.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul, usually seen as a liberal darling, is now singing a different tune by deploying the National Guard and State Police to crack down on subway crimes in New York City. It’s about time they acknowledge that law and order matter, even if it means going against their own narrative of defunding the police.
Even the notorious liberal haven of San Francisco is jumping on the bandwagon by granting more powers to the police to go after criminals. It’s quite a sight to see these left-wing cities backtrack on their “progressive” policies when faced with a surge in crime rates. Maybe they’re finally realizing that slogans and hashtags won’t keep the streets safe.
And let’s not forget about Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón, who’s receiving major heat for his soft-on-crime approach. Property crime has skyrocketed under his watch, but it seems like the tide is turning as his opponents vow to get tough on criminals. It’s time for Gascón to pack his bags and make way for someone who will actually uphold the law.
The Democratic National Committee is also trying to spin the narrative in their favor, claiming that crime rates fell under President Biden while conveniently ignoring the chaos that ensued during the previous administration. But actions speak louder than words, and it’s clear that Democrats are finally waking up to the reality that being lenient on crime only leads to more chaos and disorder.
It’s refreshing to see Democrats embracing a more conservative approach to crime, even if it’s just for political expediency. Let’s hope they stick to their newfound values and prioritize public safety over virtue signaling. It’s time to put criminals on notice and show them that the rule of law will always prevail.
